Reader Review

I started reading Pleroma on the plane. With some skepticism at first, I think…I tend to resist books in the Young Adult genre, because so often they peddle simplistic moral lessons. But the book slowly cast a spell on me, and I found myself turning pages with increasing anticipation. Before I knew it, I had reached the climactic fight…and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that, far from wrapping everything up, the story only became more complex and interesting from that point on. Before I’d touched down in Oakland, I had read the whole thing.

Congratulations on creating such a rich and fully-imagined world! I’m looking forward to finding out what happens next (although I know I may have to wait a long time.)

Customer Review from Amazon:

Pleroma is a coming-of-age adventure with an original voice and wonderful scenic description. Lane Gray, a sixteen-year-old who spends his days protecting his younger brother, Josh, from their alcoholic father and who is desperately trying to get back to Josh after being abruptly thrust into a strange land, is a strong character that you find yourself identifying with and rooting for. Fans of Henry H. Neff (“The Hound of Rowan”) and Pittacus Lore (“I am Number Four”) will enjoy this story. I am excited for the second book in the Nectar trilogy.

Reader Review from Living Social:

as my “left to read” pages got fewer and fewer, i knew i was going to wish i had book two at hand! great story, great message…favorite quote “he remembered the crows who used to taunt him on his way to school and felt ashamed that he, with a small taste of power, could act just like them.”
a great book to read with your teens, will keep your interest, but no inappropriate stuff!!!

Customer Review from Amazon:

Wow! So many exciting twists and turns!
Pleroma was full of adventures, it had me from chapter 1. Don’t try to figure out what will happen next, Pleroma is definitely not predictable! I enjoyed the variety of characters the authors descriptions made it easy for me to picture and enjoy the personalities of each one, even grow to love some of them. A Fantastic adventure!
I am looking forward to Amo, book #2.

Customer review from Amazon:

read a short synopsis of the book before I purchased it. The author’s imagination is amazing. The story drew me in from the very first page. I can’t wait for the sequel to be available. I know it is the first of a trilogy, and I must purchase the entire set. Love it so much that I recommended it to my entire family.

Amazon Reviewer:

Very well written excerpt. The story is engaging and interesting and I think the target audience will relate to Lane and his struggles.

Customer review from Amazon:

The characters are amazing, Steve Thomason has a incredible knack for entertaining you while also leaving so much to the imagination. Cant wait until the 2nd of the trilogy.

From an 8th grade student at Garrett Jr. High, Las Vegas, NV:

“There is this one book that Mr. Bowen suggested me to read. Unfortunately for this great tale, I only read the first five chapters. It is completely amazing. I felt like I was the main character. The emotions woven in where so vivid, I could feel them myself! What a fantastic job! I absolutely love it.” – Bryann P.
